In recent times the  rate of Facebook accounts been compromised  have increased and a lot of people are complaining of losing their Facebook  account without given anyone their login details. News report just showed that they are 9 apps that are stealing your facebook login.

Nine Google play apps have been busy stealing Facebook login of users and their passwords, and the apps have been downloaded more than 5.8 million times.

  • PIP Photo by Lillians, downloaded more than 5,000,000 times.
  • Processing Photo by chikumburahamilton, downloaded more than 500,000 times.
  • Horoscope Daily by Hscope Daily mom, downloaded more than 100,000 times.
  • Inwell Fitness by Reuben Germaine, downloaded more than 100,000 times.
  • Rubbish Cleaner by SNT.rbcl, downloaded more than 100,000 times.
  • App Lock Keep by Sheralaw Rence, downloaded more than 50,000 times
  • App Lock Manager by Implummet col, downloaded more than 10,000 times.
  • Lockit Master by Enali mchicolo, downloaded more than 5,000 times.
  • Horoscope Pi by Talleyr Shauna, downloaded more than 1,000 times.

According to malware analyst Dr. Web, showing the apps used five malware variants between them, three of which were native to Android and two others using the Google Flutter framework.

These apps looks legitimate as there are fore photo editing and the likes but the developers of these apps steal Facebook passwoord. Google have been informed about  this and have removed these apps from Playstore.

In conclusion if you have downloaded any of the above-listed applications, it is advisable you uninstall them, scan your device with good anti-virus, and most importantly, change your password to avoid your Facebook account being hijacked.
